Romania has the second highest Internet download speed in the world, with 1,909KBp, followed by Bulgaria with 1,611KBp, according to a study conducted by Pando Networks. The country that has the highest download speed is South Korea, with a fast average of 2,202KBps, while the slowest speed is in Congo, 13KBps, followed closely by the Central African Republic at 14KBps and Comoros at 23KBps.
At a city level, the fastest Internet download cities in the world are located in South Korea, followed by Andover, MA with 2,801KBps and Bucharest, Romania with an average speed of 2,665KBps, according to the study. The slowest measured city was Algiers, Algeria at 56KBps followed by Itapema, Brazil at 61KBps and Santa Cruz, Bolivia at 62KBps.
The study conducted by Pando Networks was based on 27 million downloads by 20 million computers in 224 countries, from January through June, 2011.
