Romania will send to the Republic of Moldova a humanitarian help of over EUR 3.7 million consisting of basic food and heating oil, the Government decided yesterday.

The products, which will include flour, sugar, cornmeal, pasta, canned meat, will be taken from Romania’s national state reserve. The Government will allocate an extra EUR 702,000 for heating oil.

Apart from that, Romania will also offer EUR 1 million non-reimbursable funds to the Republic of Moldova for public utility projects. The money will be allocated from the budget of the Regional Development Ministry. It will be granted to particular projects.

Romania’s Government approved these two help measured for Moldova after Moldovan President Nicolae Timofte’s visit to Bucharest on Wednesday.

Romania also promised to grant Moldova a EUR 150 million loan, but this loan is conditioned by the political situation in the neighboring country.
