Nestle, one of the biggest consumer goods distributors in Romania, reached a turnover of RON 764 million (EUR 170 million) in 2016, up 13% compared to 2015.

The company estimates that the growth pace will maintain this year, according to its CEO Herve de Froment.

Nestle’s business went up by RON 100 million in 2016 boosted by positive evolutions on all ten market segments on which the company is operating.

“We have recorded the highest growth in Central and Eastern Europe and the highest advance in the last eight years. All categories are growing, which means that all the markets we are operating on are growing, it’s a very healthy climate,” Herve de Froment said.

Nestle Romania’s portfolio includes baby products, cereals and bars, culinary products, coffee and beverages, wafers and chocolate, pet food, and ice cream. The company has significant market shares on most of these segments. It holds a third of the coffee and hot beverages market, 62% of the baby food segment, 48% of the cereals segment, and 40% of the culinary products segment.

The group also owns a wafer factory in Timisoara, which produces the brand Joe. The factory recorded last year the highest production since 2010 and exported to 25 countries.
