Winter will continue to be very cold in Romania, with low temperatures and strong winds in the weather forecast for the next days.

The National Administration of Meteorology (ANM) issued on Wednesday an alert of frost and chilly winds, which is valid until Thursday, 12:00.

The wind is expected to blow with up to 50 km per hour in the southeastern regions and the mountains, especially on Wednesday, but it can blow even stronger in counties such as Buzau, Braila, Ialomita, Calarasi, Tulcea, and Constanta.

The temperatures will also drop in the night from Wednesday to Thursday, especially in the north, north-east, and central parts of the country. In the coming nights, the cold weather will expand and will cover the entire country, ANM says. The maximum temperatures will stay negative, while the nighttime temperatures will vary between -10 and -20 degrees Celsius.
