Romania's Constanta remains the number one destination for cruises in the Black Sea

The Constanta Port in southeastern Romania continues to be the number one destination for cruises in the Black Sea, according to the latest statistics on global cruise tourism in 2015. The Romanian port also ranked first in 2014.

Romania's Constanta surpassed Russia's Sochi (number 2 in the ranking) and Burgas in Bulgaria (number 3) both on the number of passengers and the number of incoming ships, according to a statement published by portofconstantza.com.

According to statistics published by Seatrade Cruise Global, 31,856 passengers transited the Romanian port in 2015, 19,501 the Sochi port, and 7,575 the Burgas port. However, the number of passengers who transited the port in Constanta was half compared to the figure registered in 2014, of almost 65,000.
