Romania, among the EU countries with highest agricultural output

France, Italy, Germany, Spain, UK, Netherlands, Poland, and Romania recorded last year the highest value of agricultural production in the European Union, according to data published by the European statistical office (Eurostat).

The total agricultural output in the EU amounted to EUR 411.2 billion in 2015, down 1.8% compared to 2014.

Romania’s agricultural production had a value of EUR 15.5 billion last year, down 7.4% compared to 2014. Romania thus had a share of 4% in EU’s total agricultural output.

France’s agricultural production had the highest value among the EU member states, with EUR 75.2 billion, or 18% of the EU total. It was followed by Italy (EUR 55.2 billion), Germany (EUR 51.5 billion), and Spain (EUR 45.5 billion). Poland’s agricultural output was EUR 22.3 billion.
