Romania, Ireland, and Netherlands recorded the lowest annual inflation rates in the EU in March, according to data published yesterday by EU’s statistical office – Eurostat.

Romania’s inflation rate reached 0.4%, followed by Ireland and the Netherlands, with 0.6%.

On the other side, Latvia (3.3%), Lithuania (3.2%), and Estonia (3%) saw the highest annual inflation rates in the EU in March. The annual inflation rate fell to 1.5% in the eurozone and 1.6% in the European Union.

Compared to February, the annual inflation rate dropped in 17 countries in March (including Romania), increased in five countries, and remained stable in six.

In the euro area, transport fuels, fuels for heating and vegetables had the most significant impact on the annual increase in prices in March. Outside the Eurozone, the most significant impact on inflation came from the telecommunications sector, holiday packages, and clothing.
