Romania, 4th in EU for largest increase in construction work

Romania ranked fourth in the European Union for the increase in construction work in July this year compared to the same month in 2015, with a growth rate of 2.9%.

At EU level, construction work went up by 1% in July whereas the annual growth amounted to 3.1% in the Eurozone.

The highest increases were recorded in Spain (12%), Sweden (10%), France (3.3%), and Romania (2.9%). Slovakia saw the steepest decline, of -23.3%. It was followed by Hungary (-17.6%), and Poland (-15.1%).

In July, Romania recorded an advance of 0.7% compared to the previous month, after a monthly decline of -1.3% in June.
