Sonae Sierra, the owner of the River Plaza mall in the Romanian city of Ramnicu Valcea will add a cinema to the shopping center in December 2013. The real estate developer recently signed a lease with Line Cinema for a 200-seat cinema within River Plaza. The two halls of the future cinema will run latest movies, including in 3D format. The cinema will be located on the third floor, near the food court.
This will be the first Line Cinema in Romania, said Silviu Mardale, General Manager, Line Cinema, a new cinema operator in Romania.
Sonae Sierra owns 48 shopping centers in 11 countries in the world, including Romania. The company manages a total of 50 shopping center with a market value of over EUR 5.8 billion. Sonae Sierra bought River Plaza in 2007 for EUR 42 million, marking its market entry. In Romania, it currently works on three new projects, Adora Mall in Craiova, ParkLake Plaza in Bucharest and Ploiesti Shopping.
