Renault accesses EU funds in Romania for virtual reality systems

Renault Technologie Roumanie, the local subsidiary of the French car producer Renault, has received EU funds in Romania to develop virtual reality systems and to test physical components in the Simulated Virtual Environment.

The company has benefitted from EU funds of over EUR 1 million, plus a national contribution of over EUR 489,000, reports local Agerpres. Its own contribution amounted to EUR 1.4 million.

The funds have been allocated within the Competitiveness Operational Programme (COP) in the Research, Technological Development and Innovation sector. Some 14 projects, with a value of EUR 35.2 million, have been financed through this programme.

The same programme will finance the second stage of the Extreme Light Infrastructure — Nuclear Physics (ELI-NP) project worth EUR 174.5 million.
