Regulator ranks insurers in Romania based on customers’ satisfaction

11 April 2017

Romania’s Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) published yesterday its first ranking of insurance companies in Romania based on their customers’ satisfaction.

Allianz-Tiriac, Generali Romania, and Groupama ranked first, whereas Asirom, City Insurance, and Forte were last.

The ranking is based on three indicators. The first one measures the ratio between the number of complaints submitted by customers and the number of contracts concluded by the insurer. The second one looks into the ratio between complaints and approved damages. The third one measures the ratio between favorable complaints and approved damages.

According to ASF, only five in ten companies had good results for all three indicators. These included Allianz-Tiriac, Generali Romania, Groupama, Omniasig VIG, and Uniqa. The sixth top insurer Euroins recorded good results for the first indicator, but average for the others two. The next one, Carpatica Asig, had good results for the first one, but weak ones for the others two.

Asirom VIG and City Insurance had bad results for all the indicators. The weakest results were recorded by Forte Asigurari – Reasigurari, a company that has entered the bankruptcy procedure.
