Prevention law aims to protect employers in Romania from “terror of control”

13 March 2017

The draft law on prevention, which will be launched in public debate, is a liberal program that aims to help employers not feel terrorized by the thought of a control, said Cristian Dima, a state secretary in the Ministry for Business Environment, reports local News.ro.

The law wants to create harmony between state control authorities, such as the Consumer Protection, Tax Authority (ANAF), Labor Inspectorate (ITM), and Emergency Situations Unit (ISU), and companies.

In the first stage, authorities will apply a written warning, and sanctions will be applied only in the second stage if the company doesn’t comply with the initial recommendations, according to the draft bill.

“The law provides that such a control takes place every three years, but I would suggest to have it once a year, I think it’s a reasonable term,” the state secretary said.

The ministry’s website will also have a portal gathering all the laws with impact on companies, Dima added.
