07 September 2016

Romania’s Government is trying to attract an investment of the German car producer BMW in Romania.

Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos said on Monday, during his visit in Germany, that he talked with BMW representatives on the prospect that the company becomes more active in Romania.

The Prime Minister added that a group of IT specialists working for BMW will pay a visit to various Romanian companies in the next weeks to see the local opportunities. Ciolos also said that he discussed with the German officials about the future of electric cars and development in the IT and research field.

Romania recently missed the chance to attract an investment of German car producer Daimler, which decided instead to build an engine factory in Poland. The investment totaled EUR 500 million.
