Our (short) story
Romania-Insider.com was born as a solo project, but soon became a team project. Corina Saceanu, who had been working as a business journalist in Romania for six years, decided to go on her own and be true to her journalistic principles while keeping the expatriate community in Romania informed, so in May 2010 she launched www.Romania-Insider.com. After a couple of hard, start-up months, she met Volker Moser, whom she had interviewed before, when she was working for another publication. Volker had been doing business in Romania for the last two years, through City Compass.
What started off as a media partnership evolved naturally into a business venture, and the two became partners in Business Insider, the Romanian company which runs www.Romania-Insider.com. Others soon joined the group that now works to keep the site up, sharing the vision of an independent media company.
Our (simple) vision
We like to write for our readers, to make it easier for them to discover Romania and make sense of the world around. We bring quality content, independently, for the expatriate community in Romania and locals alike. We are flexible and passionate, a young team that stands by moral and ethical principles when writing articles and when doing business.
The hard work and standing by what we believe in has paid off so far. After only a couple of months of activity, www.Romania-Insider.com was already the most popular website delivering daily English – language news in Romania. We’ve learned from our readers that our articles are useful – which, in the end, was our main target- and we continue to improve based on our audience’s needs.
