Oscar-nominated drama Manchester by the Sea opens DaKINO Film Festival in Bucharest

American drama Manchester by the Sea, which has received six Oscar nominations, will open this year’s edition of DaKINO Film Festival, which will take place in Bucharest from March 1 to March 5.

The screening will take place on March 1, 19:30, at Cinema Pro in downtown Bucharest. Tickets can be purchased online here.

Manchester by the Sea stars Casey Affleck and Michelle Williams. The film has received six Oscar nominations, and Casey Affleck already won a Golden Globe and a BAFTA Award for the leading role in this film. See the trailer below.

DaKino’s short film competition gathers 26 Romanian and foreign productions, such as Backstory (Germany, 2016), George (France, 2016), I Think You’re a Little Confused (Japan, 2016), Jumbo (USA, 2016), and Next (Russia, 2016). Romania will be represented in the competition by The White Box directed by Mihai Pacurar, Family Trip directed by Catalin Draghici, and Spid by Bogdan Muresanu.

The short films’ screenings will take place at Arcub, on March 2, 3, and 4, starting 19:00. Moreover, the entire short film competition will be screened in a marathon event organized at Muzeul Taranului Cinema on March 5.
