Smartphone and tablet sales increased significantly in 2015 compared to 2014. Orange has the highest 4G coverage in Romania, reaching 96% of the urban population and 72% of the total population.

“2015 was a successful year for Orange Romania, which included premieres on both the local market and at a group level. 2016 is expected to be as dynamic, market trends showing an increased appetite for 4G and access to entertainment on all types of screens as well as a growing interest in converged services and the prepaid service users’ switch to subscriptions,” said Jean-Francois Fallacher, CEO Orange Romania.

At a group level, Orange’s revenues amounted to EUR 40.2 billion in 2015, relatively stable compared to the previous year. The group's main competitors in the local market are Vodafone, Telekom, and RCS&RDS.
