21 March 2016

Only 2% of Romanians shopped online from companies based in other European Union member states last year, according to a report of the European Commission.

Romania is thus last in the EU on cross-border online shopping, behind Poland, where the share of those who purchase online from other states is 4%, and Bulgaria (7%).

In Luxembourg, the percentage of people who shopped online from other countries reached 68% in 2015.

Over 50% of the people living in EU made purchases online, but only 16% bought from companies located in another member state.
