Omniasig doubles profit in Romania
Omniasig VIG, one of the top local insurers, recorded a profit of EUR 6.5 million last year, double compared to 2014.
The company’s turnover rose by over 13% last year to some EUR 219 million. It ranked first among the local insurers that sell general insurance policies, with a market share of over 14%.
The firm also ranked first for the total volume of paid compensation, with some EUR 120.7 million, up 19.2% over the previous year.
On the mandatory car insurance segment RCA, the company underwrote gross premiums worth EUR 72.1 million.
The firm is owned by the Austrian group Vienna Insurance Group (VIG). Its main competitors are Allianz-Tiriac and Groupama.
