In about two weeks, the Romanian Fencing Federation will organize Flashmob Romania, an event that aims to promote fencing and attract more children to this sport. The special event will take place in 11 Romanian cities on September 20, starting 18:00.

Ana Maria Popescu (Branza), Simona Pop, Simona Gherman, and Loredana Dinu, who won the women’s epee competition at the Rio Olympics this summer, as well as other current and former fencing champions will be present at the event, for simultaneous demonstrations, photos, autographs and other actions meant to promote this sport.

The four Rio Olympic champions will meet their fans in Satu Mare (Simona Pop), Craiova (Loredana Dinu), Brasov (Simona Gherman), and Constanta (Ana Maria Popescu). The event will also take place in Slobozia, Iasi, Targu Mures, Cluj-Napoca, Oradea, Timisoara, and Rasnov.

Besides simultaneous demonstrations, photos, and autographs, the Romanian Fencing Federation will also come with a novelty at this year’s edition of Flashmob Romania: fencing coaches will give lessons to the public, in the most important locations in Slobozia, Constanta, Iasi, Targu Mures, Cluj, Satu Mare, Oradea, Timisoara, Craiova, Brasov, and Rasnov.
