Office space leased outside Bucharest grows by 53%

The volume of office space leased outside of Bucharest increased by 53% in Timisoara, Iasi, Cluj-Napoca, Brasov, Arad, and Pitesti last year compared to 2015, according to the real estate consultancy firm ESOP.

The survey shows that the big IT&C companies have started to simultaneously expand in several cities.

ESOP presents the examples of companies such as Accenture, Deloitte, HP, and Huawei. Accenture rented offices in Bucharest, but also in Cluj-Napoca and Iasi in 2016. Deloitte expanded its offices in Bucharest and Timisoara whereas Ericsson rented offices in Bucharest and Pitesti. HP expanded its operations in Cluj-Napoca and Arad whereas Huawei leased office space in Bucharest and Timisoara last year.

The total volume of office space leased outside the capital last year amounted to 71,560 sqm. Timisoara ranked first with 35,795 sqm, followed by Iasi and Cluj-Napoca.
