Number of dissolved companies doubles in Romania

The number of companies that suspended their operations in Romania in the first two months of the year rose by 52% year-on-year, to over 4,300, according to the National Trade Registry Office (ONRC).

Bucharest ranked first for the number of companies with suspended operations, namely 654, followed by the Constanta county (250) and the Bihor county (207).

The number of dissolved companies reached over 6,600 in the first two months of the year, more than double compared to the same period last year. The number of companies that went into insolvency during this period dropped by 23.4% over the same period in 2015, reaching 1,451 units.

Almost 19,500 new companies were registered in the first two months of 2016, 6% more compared to the same months of 2015.
