A Romanian household spent an average of RON 60.48 (EUR 13.6) per month for medical products, devices, and drugs, in 2015, according to data from the National Statistics Institute (INS). Most of the money was spent on drugs, namely RON 58.22 (EUR 13.1).

Based on age groups, the households of retirees spent the highest amount of money for medical products and drugs, namely RON 93.96 (EUR 21.1) per month. Almost all of them were spent for drugs (RON 91.19), reports local Agerpres.

The households’ total expenditures amounted to RON 2,351 (EUR 529) per month, on average, being 3.2 percentage points lower than the ones registered the year before. They represented 87.5% of the total revenues.

The Romanian households spent most of their money on food and non-food products, services, and taxes.
