London, Cluj-Napoca and Iasi are the main destinations of planes that take off from the Bucharest International Henri Coanda Airport. The airport saw 9.3 million passengers last year.

Over 1,200 planes took off weekly during the winter season from the Henri Coanda airport. Almost 40% of them headed to ten destinations, most of them international, reports local Ziarul Financiar.

About 69 flights fly to London from the Bucharest airport weekly, via airlines such as Wizzair, Tarom, Blue Air, British Airways and Ryanair. The competition is high, as more than 140,000 Romanians work in the UK.
