Local courier DPD Romania increases turnover

04 August 2016

Local courier DPD Romania recorded a turnover of EUR 10.5 million in the first six months of the year, up EUR 2.2 million over the same period in 2015. The growth was driven by the higher delivery volumes.

The company shipped 88% of the packages in the country and 7% abroad. The deliveries from other countries to Romania accounted for about 5% of the total deliveries.

The online trade, international shipments, as well as the new pallet delivery system PalettOne helped the courier increase its revenues.

“E-commerce still generates most business for the courier sector,” said Lucian Aldescu, DPD Romania CEO.
