Leroy Merlin completes rebranding of bauMax stores in Romania

French DIY retailer Leroy Merlin will open its 15th store in Romania this Friday. It will be located in Timisoara and will cover over 13,400 sqm.

The company will thus complete the modernization and rebranding process of the bauMax DIY stores taken it took over some 20 months ago, reports local Economica.net. During this period the retailer has transformed and opened 12 stores of the former bauMax network and also built from scratch two new stores of its own.

Leroy Merlin will now have the same number of stores as its competitor Kingfisher, which acquired the Bricostore network in 2013 to rebrand it in Brico Depot.

Romanian group Dedeman is the biggest DIY retailer in Romania. Other competitors are Praktiker, Hornbach, Arabesque, and Ambient.
