Swedish fund and Romanian founder buy back local water distributor

15 April 2016

Swedish investment fund Oresa and Romanian investor Cristian Amza recently signed  the agreement to buy water distributor La Fantana Group from Innova Capital. Amza is the founder of La Fantana.

The recent deal sees La Fantana returning to its former owners, as Innova Capital had bought La Fantana from Oresa eight years ago. A rumor about this transactions appeared in the media back in March.

The transaction, whose value was not disclosed, is now pending approvals.

“La Fantana has been growing considerably in the past 17 years with Innova Capital and Oresa aside. [...] I thank the investors for believing in La Fantana and the management team I’ve been leading. Personally, I am extremely happy to re-join Oresa as partners,” said Cristian Amza, CEO and founder La Fantana Group.

La Fantana is a leading provider of home and office water solutions in South-Eastern Europe (SEE) and the second largest provider of water solutions in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). Last year, the group posted consolidated revenues of over EUR 42 million and served more than 50,000 customers.

La Fantana Group, led by Cristian Amza, is currently active in Romania and Serbia, with market shares estimated at 70% in Romania and 50% in Serbia.
