Italian group Enel brings new CEO for its business in Romania

Italian Toni Volpe, who took over as country manager for energy group Enel Romania in the spring of 2014, will leave his office. Greek Georgios Stassis will replace him.

Volpe, 44, has joined Enel more than ten years ago. Between 2011 and 2014 he was planning director of human resources, compensation, development, training and recruitment at a group level.  Between 2005 and 2011, he was country manager in North America for Enel Green Power (EGP).

Georgios Stassis has graduated from the Civil Engineering faculty of the Kingston University in the UK. He has been general manager of Enel Green Power (EGP) for Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, and Egypt.

Enel Romania serves some 2.5 million consumers. The group posted revenues of EUR 497 million in Romania in the first six months of 2015, down 3.5% year-on-year. The company is part of the Italian group Enel.
