Individuals bring Romanian state double taxes compared to companies

The Romanian state collects twice more money from the tax on individual revenues compared to what it makes from the tax on corporate profits.

In 2015, the state collected some EUR 6 billion from the tax on individual revenues and EUR 3.1 billion from the tax on corporate profits, according to data from the Finance Ministry, cited by local Ziarul Financiar.

The difference has increased in recent years as the state’s revenues from the tax on individual revenues increased by 45% compared to 2008 while the revenues from the tax on profit were only 6% higher in 2015 compared to 2008, the data shows.

Individuals pay 16% of their revenues to the state and companies pay 16% of their gross profits.
