IMF: Romania has a gross funding need of EUR 15.8 bln

Romania has a gross funding need of 9.4% of the GDP for this year, namely the equivalent of EUR 15.8 billion, according to estimates of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), cited by local Profit.ro.

The Romanian state needs some EUR 11 billion to pay outstanding debts and over EUR 4.7 billion to cover the deficit.

In 2017, Romania’s financing need would drop to 7.5% of the GDP, according to IMF.

The gross government debt will increase from 39.4% of the GDP in 2015 to 39.7% of the GDP this year and to over 40% the next year.
