IMF appoints new representative for Romania

Argentinian economist Alejandro Hajdenberg will replace Guillermo Tolosa as resident representative of the International Monetary Fund for Romania and Bulgaria.

Hajdenberg was previously chief economist within the IMF office in Cyprus. He played an important part in the financial assistance program initiated in the country after the crisis, in 2013.

Hajdenberg also worked for the IMF offices in Hungary, Serbia, Turkey, Colombia, Uruguay, and Georgia. He has been working with IMF for 13 years.

Hajdenberg has a PhD in economics from the Chicago University.
