Housing prices in Romania up 3.6% in 2015

Romania ranked 31st in the world for the biggest increase in housing prices, with a growth of 3.6%, according to a survey by real estate consultancy firm Knight Frank.

The price of apartments in Romania rose more than in Bulgaria, Slovenia, or Poland.

In the region, only Hungary and the Czech Republic had higher growth rates, namely 4.3% and 3.9%.

Worldwide, housing prices went up by 3% in 2015. Some 43 out of the 55 analyzed countries recorded price increases last year, according to the survey.

“Our perspectives for 2016 are reserved. We expect a lower growth rate this year,” reads the study.
