Hornbach plans new store for Bucharest

German do-it-yourself retailer Hornbach, which has opened its fourth store in Romania on the former Prisma location near Bucharest, plans to further invest EUR 30 million in the fourth store of the chain in the capital city.

Hornbach bough the former Prisma premises in 2007, some 10 hectares of land. Half of this space hosts the new Hornbach store. Hornbach runs three stores in Bucharest and one in Brasov.

Hornbach’s competition in Romania is made of a group of do-it-yourself retailers: Bricostore, Praktiker, Mr. Bricolage, Dedeman, OBI, BauMax.
