Hard Rock Café Bucharest has won a prize for financial results, social involvement and sales performance in 2012. The Top of the Rock prize is awarded for outstanding performance in the Hard Rock International network.
The prize sent from Hard Rock International in Orlando, Florida includes hand painted Fender Squire Telecaster guitar (in picture), which will be displayed in the Herastrau restaurant.
The Bucharest franchise managed through sales growth over the previous year, the results from charity concerts and performances at the operational level, to win the top prize for all 139 restaurants in 53 countries worldwide that are part of the Hard Rock network. Hard Rock Cafe Bucharest is now a member of the Performance Hall of Fame, along with Detroit Hard Rock Cafe, Hard Rock Cafe Bali, Hard Rock Cafe Malta and others.
The Hard Rock Cafe story began in 1971, when Isaac Tigrett and Peter Morton were two shaggy-haired Americans in search of a good American burger in London. They opened up their own American style diner in an old Rolls Royce dealership with a rock music theme and called it the Hard Rock Cafe.
Hard Rock Cafe Bucharest is next to the lake in Herastrau park, a popular location for locals and tourists and also the site of a number of other lakeside cafes, bars and restaurants.
