Great Britain, fifth export destination for Romania

Great Britain was the fifth export destination for Romania in the first quarter of this year, with total exports of EUR 650 million, up 15.3% compared to the same period of the year.

The imports from the UK amounted to EUR 386 million in the first three months of the year, up 5.7%. Romania thus had a trade surplus of over EUR 263 million with Great Britain, up 18.5% compared to the first quarter of last year, according to data from the Ministry of Economy, cited by local Agerpres.

The top destinations for Romanian exports included Germany, with a share of 21.3% of the total value, Italy - 12.4%, France - 7.4%, and Hungary - 5.1%.

Romania’s top ten export countries accounted for two-thirds of the total exports, according to the Economy Ministry.
