Google has overtaken Microsoft on the stock market with the latest share prices valuing the company at USD 249.1 billion. Yesterday’s (October 1 ) closing share price on Wall Street values Google at nearly USD 2 billion more than Microsoft. Google is now the second only to Apple among technology companies. Apple’s share price is still going higher and higher, after topping half a trillion dollars at the end of February this year. The company’s meteoric success has continued and Apple’s stock is now at USD 628 billion.
Google opened an office in Romania back in 2010, announcing intentions to work with local companies to develop their online presence among its objectives. Prior to 2010, Google’s Romanian operation were run by its office in Dublin, Ireland. Google nabbed Dan Bulucea from Microsoft Romania to head the local office.
Microsoft has had a long relationship with Romania, with many Romanian employees working for the software giant, Romanian is reputedly the second language at the the company’s US headquarters. Microsoft has been active in Romania for more than 16 years and runs several facilities in the country.
