George Enescu, born in 1881, in the village of Liveni, is an emblematic figure for the Romanian musical culture and one of the most important names in international gallery of the great composers and interpreters of the twentieth century.
George Enescu died on 4 May 1955, and was buried in the Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris. After his death, his hometown of Liveni was renamed George Enescu. Read more about the Romanian composer on our web-site here.
