The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has granted the local company Garanti Leasing Romania a EUR 10 million loan.

The aim of this financing is to increase the access to financing for small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) in the country. Garanti Leasing will use the credit to grant SMEs new leasing financing for equipment, machinery, and transport vehicles.

Garanti Leasing is part of the local financial group Garanti Romania, which is owned by Turkiye Garanti Bankasi AS (TGB), the second largest private bank in Turkey. The company has a 4.6% market share on the Romanian leasing market.

Garanti Leasing mainly supports small and medium-sized companies. It has signed over 43,000 leasing contracts so far, which are worth over EUR 800 million.
