Summer heat: First aid tents to be installed in Bucharest starting this Friday

First aid tents are to be installed in 20 of Bucharest’s busiest areas starting Friday, July 1, according to Gabriela Firea, the capital’s new mayor.

The tents will be equipped with drinking water dispensers, air conditioning, equipment for measuring blood pressure and blood sugar level, and first aid kits. Moreover, doctors and nurses will also be there to help those who are affected by the high temperatures, reports local Mediafax.

The tents are to stay open daily between 11:00 and 19:00.

Bucharest was under a yellow alert of heat until Saturday, June 25, but the temperatures are expected to stay over 30 degrees Celsius in the coming days.

The meteorologists issued another yellow alert on Monday morning, this time for storms. The warning targets 27 counties in central, northern, western and southwestern Romania and is valid until Tuesday morning, June 28, 10:00.
