Financial incentives for Romanian students with perfect scores at national exams

The Romanian students who got perfect scores (10) at the national exams organized this year, namely the National Evaluation, for eighth-graders, and the Baccalaureate, for highs-school graduates, will receive financial incentives, according to a Government decision adopted on August 31.

Slightly over 75% of the middle school graduates who registered for this year’s National Evaluation passed the exam, and 253 of them got the perfect score. Meanwhile, two-thirds of the high-school graduates who took the Baccalaureate exam managed to pass it, 86 of them scoring the perfect 10.

According to the Government decision, every student who scored 10 at the National Evaluation exam will get a financial incentive of RON 1,000 (some EUR 225). In the case of high school students with perfect scores at the Baccalaureate, the incentive will amount to RON 3,000 (EUR 675).

Romania is among the EU countries with the highest school dropout rates.
