Employees in Romania get EUR 1.2 bln meal and gift tickets

Companies in Romania gave their employees meal and gift tickets worth EUR 1.2 billion last year, up by 10% compared to 2014, according to Elena Pap, general manager of Up Romania, which issues tickets under the Cheque Dejeuner brand.

Meal tickets represent 85% of the total value, reports local Profit.ro.

Some companies that had stopped giving their employees meal tickets during the crisis restarted doing it last year. Other companies have started using electronic cards instead of the classic vouchers, according to Elena Pap.

The number of companies that issue gift vouchers has also increased. Sodexo, Edenred, and Up Romania are the main players in the local meal and gift ticket market.
