eMAG opens second showroom in Bucharest, plans further expansion

23 March 2017

eMAG, the biggest online retailer in Romania, continues expanding in the offline with the opening of its second showroom in Bucharest, in Titan Galleries.

The new showroom is the first one opened this year, but the company plans to also continue the expansion outside Bucharest.

A team of 70 people will be in charge of the showroom in Titan, which will have more than 10,000 products in stock. The clients will find several categories of products at the new showroom, from household appliances and IT&C products to personal care and smart tech products.

“We estimate that more than 150,000 orders will be delivered here annually. Moreover, in two years, we expect this showroom to surpass the one in Crangasi in terms of sales and thus become the largest one,” said Sorin Dinu, retail manager eMAG.

The retailer opened its first showroom in Bucharest in 2008, in the Grant Shopping Center in Crangasi neighborhood. eMAG also has showrooms in Brasov, Constanta, Craiova, Galati, Oradea, Timisoara, Iasi, Ploiesti, and Cluj-Napoca.

In addition to the showrooms, the retailer has two delivery points in Baneasa and Pitesti, and 202 delivery points opened in partnership with the Romanian Post.

South-African investment fund Naspers is eMAG’s majority shareholder while Romanian businessman Iulian Stanciu owns a minority stake in the company. In January this year, eMAG launched a marketplace dedicated to small Romanian producers, opening its sales channel to an estimated 400 local entrepreneurs in the first year.
