eMAG Marketplace reaches 1,000 partner stores

01 March 2016

eMAG Marketplace has reached the threshold of 1,000 partner stores that list their products on the online platform developed by eMAG, the biggest local online retailer.

These stores account for 25% of the total sales on the eMAG platform.

The platform attracts about 100 new stores every month. In about five years, Marketplace will generate half of the retailer’s sales, according to eMAG’s estimates.

The platform allows other retailers to sell their products via eMAG’s website and app.

eMAG currently offers 13,000 brands and 1,100 listed categories, which makes it the biggest mall in Romania. It has 20 million visits each month, more than the cumulated traffic of the 10 biggest malls in Romania, according to the retailer’s representatives.

eMAG, which is owned by South-African investment fund Naspers, invested EUR 2 million last year in developing the Marketplace platform.
