EDS Romania to invest EUR 5 mln in printing equipments for smaller circulation projects


EDS Romania, the local subsidiary of printing house Euro-Druckservice, will invest EUR 5 million in new equipments which would allow the company to print smaller circulation projects. “We are trying to diversify the production and enter new segments. We want to invest in printing for publishing and in retail printing. The value of investments reaches EUR 5 million, and the project will start this year, to be finalized in spring next year. But it depends on how the market will evolve,” said Albert Andras, general manager of the EDS Romania printing house, quoted by Ziarul Financiar.

EDS Romania currency specialized in large circulation magazines and retail brochures, and the average order is of around EUR 1 million. The company expects a turnover of EUR 24 million for this year, up 20 percent on the year before.

The printing market has decreased after the price of paper has gone up by EUR 20 to EUR 50 per tonne. Clients have reduced advertising budgets and volumes and printing prices went down by 15 to 20 percent due to the aggressive competition.
