Dedeman opens its 44th store in Romania after EUR 14 mln investment

Dedeman, the largest retailer specialized in selling building materials and interior design products, will open a new store in Oradea, western Romania, this Friday.

The investment amounts to some EUR 14 million and has created 200 new jobs.

The new store, which is the retailer’s 44th unit in Romania, will have around 500 parking places, a sales area of 13,000 sqm and a greenhouse for garden articles of about 3,000 sqm.

Dedeman plans to reach a target of 50 stores in Romania. Besides the 44 stores, the retailer has two logistic centers and its own car park.

The company, which is owned by local investors Adrian Paval and Dragos Paval, posted a turnover of about EUR 1 billion last year, up 30% over the previous year.
