Czech sports betting will sponsor Romania’s national football team

Fortuna Entertainment Group, the Czech operator of sports betting and gambling, has become an official sponsor of Romania’s national football team, Per Widerstrom, CEO of Fortuna Group, announced yesterday.

The partnership with the Romanian Football Federation is valid for four years, starting this month.

Fortuna is also the main sponsor of the Czech Football Association and the Polish football club Legia Warsaw. Since 2014, the company has also been the sponsor of the Super League in Slovakia, which was renamed Fortuna League.

The Fortuna Entertainment Group holding is headquartered in Amsterdam and aims to become a leader on the sports betting and gambling market in Central and Eastern Europe. The group was founded in 2009 and is listed on the Prague and Warsaw bourses.

Fortuna recently acquired the Romanian sports betting and gambling operator Casa Pariurilor. It also took over the companies Bet Active Concept, Bet Zone, Public Slots, and Slot Arena from Fortbet Holdings, in a deal worth EUR 47 million.

Other sponsors of Romania’s national football team are local lender Bancpost, beer producer Bergenbier, Telekom Romania, retailer Penny Market, and Tiriac Holdings.
