A Chinese citizen was expelled from Romania after serving a sentence of 22 years in a local prison for aggravated murder.

The Chinese man was expelled from Romania last Friday, according to a statement from the General Inspectorate for Immigration.

He was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1994 for aggravated murder, a crime he committed with two other Chinese citizens.

The three defendants killed and robbed a Chinese couple in Bucharest in 1994, the murder happening in an apartment located in District 2. The bodies were stuffed into two suitcases, which were later abandoned near Cernica Lake, reports local Agerpres.

The Chinese citizen who served 22 years of his sentence was released on parole in late-December 2016. The immigration officers took him over, and expelled him from the country last week.

Moreover, the Chinese man will not be allowed to enter Romania for 5 years.
