01 September 2016

Local business people will launch in September their own governing program and will try to convince the political parties to adopt it, regardless of which one is in power.

The business people want an attractive tax system and skilled labour force, reports local Profit.ro. They will propose that a new Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Tourism is created.

Romania should become the country with the most attractive business environment in the region, according to the draft program. It should rank among the top 20 most attractive countries for business at global level. Romania currently ranks 37th in the Doing Business report and 42th in the Entrepreneurship Index Rankings report.

Those who want to open new businesses in Romania should be able to do this with EUR 1 capital, and the process should take no more than a day, according to the business people’s governing program. The new entrepreneurs should be able to get grant of up to EUR 25,000 from the state.

Florin Jianu, president of the National Council of Small and Medium Sized Private Enterprises in Romania, said that the whole program will be made public in mid-September.
