Bucharest is 8th in the European ranking of big IT&Tech cities

08 December 2016

The fast development of the IT sector has put Romania’s capital Bucharest on the eighth place in a ranking of the most attractive IT centers in Europe.

Bucharest ranks after London, Paris, Berlin, Munich, Madrid, Dublin, and Budapest, but ahead of Amsterdam, Milano, Moscow, and Istanbul.

Moreover, Bucharest ranks fourth for the growth in the number of employees in the IT sector, according to a recent report by real estate consultancy firm CBRE. From 2010 to 2015, Bucharest had a growth rate of 28% in the number of employees in this sector. This makes the IT and outsourcing sectors the main growth engine for the local office market.

“Half of the office leasing deals in Romania have been for companies in these sectors,” said Mihai Paduroiu Head of Advisory & Transaction Services CBRE.
