Bill: Young Romanians under 25 exempt from tax on salaries

Young people under 25 may be exempt from paying the tax on salaries for three years, similar to the current model applied only to IT employees, according to a draft project debated in the Parliament.

The law would encourage local companies to hire young people, who would thus find jobs more easily and stay in the country, reports local Profit.roThe bill would change the current Fiscal Code, by introducing young people’s income under 25 in the category of non-taxable revenues for three years.

The project needs to be voted by the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, and also promulgated by Iohannis.

The unemployment rate among young people under 25 amounts to 24% in Romania, above the average EU level.
