Bill: Romania's electoral candidates need to pay to take part in radio, TV shows

21 September 2016

Candidates in the future parliamentary elections will be able to take part in electoral radio and TV shows, but only if they pay.

The TV and radio stations will be obliged to publish their tariffs for electoral programs, according to a draft project of the National Audio-Visual Council (CNA), cited by local Mediafax. The bill will enter a 15-day public debate starting today.

The tariff should be the same for all candidates, said Rasvan Popescu, CNA deputy president.

The parliamentary elections will take place on December 11 and the electoral campaign officially starts on November 11.
